Delivery and Collection


Delivery and collection schedules are established by Mail Services based on building locations, mail volume, vehicle Departments having mail other than "Special Services" mail which needs to be processed after the last scheduled mail pick-up may hand carry this to the mail room, prior to 3:00 p.m., and it will be processed.

Carriers may not collect or deliver mail to any unauthorized area. Any variation must be authorized by Mail Services. Request for new or changes in established collection and delivery points must be submitted by memo.

Mail collection points should provide individual box separations or bundle as follows:

  • Inter-office
  • Stamped
  • To Be Metered
  • International
  • Special Services
Those departments with more than one budget account number should group together the numbers and separate as well.

Incoming Special Services Mail:

We collect our special service mail from the U.S. Post Office every morning at approximately 7:00 AM. It is delivered to the designated collection point each day with the regular mail. All Insured, Registered, Certified, and Express mail is signed for at the time of delivery. It may be accepted by someone other than the addressee.

Outgoing Special Services Mail:

Our special service mail [Registered, Certified, Insured, and Express] is dispatched to the U.S. Post Office each day at 4:30 p.m.
