he campus BMC is a highly mechanized mail processing plant,
dedicated to the distribution of first-class, second-class, third-class
mail in bulk form, and fourth-class in piece and bulk form. With the
cooperation of other campus units (Printing Services, Campus Mail
Services, SCRIPT), the BMC is able to meet the mass mailing needs of
campus units and coordinate all university business with the US
Postal Service (USPS).
The US Postal Service is continually striving to improve and
expand the capabilities of its equipment. However, nothing is more
important to the success of automated mail processing than letter
mail that is prepared for equipment compatibility in accordance with
postal guidelines. The BMC is well versed in these postal regulations
and, with its heavy machine capability, is able to meet the demands
of campus bulk mail.
The campus Bulk Mail Center offers a complete line of mail
preparation services to meet your mailing need:
- Folding- letters, self-mailers, brochures
- Metering-First Class and non-profit bulk rate
- Labeling- 1-up Avery and 4-up Cheshire
- Inserting- Letters, cards, brochure
- Sorting- in accordance with US Postal Service regulations
- List Maintenance- maintained on our computer
Bulk Rate is for mailings of at least 200 identical pieces or at least 50
pounds of identical pieces that are specially prepared and sorted by
Zip Code. When mailing large quantities, it is possible to save a
significant amount of money in postage fees.
